1. Agreement and eligibility
By accessing the ResearchWize website, web workspace, browser extension, or related services (together, the "Services"), you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
The Services are designed and marketed primarily for post-secondary students and other users aged 18 or older. You must be at least 13 to use the Services. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use and accept these Terms.
2. Academic responsibility
ResearchWize is an evidence and assignment-support workspace. It can help you understand requirements, analyse sources, connect working claims to evidence, build an outline, and find gaps. You remain responsible for the thinking, decisions, disclosures, and final work.
- Check the rules for the specific course, assignment, exam, employer, or institution before using an AI-assisted feature.
- Do not present AI-assisted or third-party work as entirely your own when that would be false or prohibited.
- Disclose AI assistance when required.
- Verify quotations, source details, citations, calculations, interpretations, and factual claims against appropriate original material.
- Do not use ResearchWize to fabricate sources, evade academic-integrity controls, or facilitate cheating.
ResearchWize does not guarantee a grade, assessment outcome, acceptance, publication, or compliance with a particular policy.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, keep sign-in credentials confidential, and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Do not create accounts to evade usage limits, access another person's account, share access in a way that defeats plan restrictions, or misrepresent identity or eligibility.
4. Plans, allowances, subscriptions, and billing
Free and Plus access
ResearchWize may offer limited free access and paid ResearchWize Plus access. The pricing page and checkout show the current price, currency, billing interval, included products, and plan allowances. ResearchWize Plus feature allowances currently reset at the start of each calendar month in UTC; other limits may apply by feature, file size, token volume, or request volume.
Recurring subscriptions
If you purchase a recurring subscription, you authorize the payment provider to charge the displayed amount, plus applicable taxes, at the stated interval until cancellation. You can manage or cancel an eligible subscription through the billing portal or other account controls. Unless the checkout or applicable law says otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
Changes and refunds
We may change pricing, plan allowances, or included features prospectively. Existing subscriptions will receive notice when required by law or the payment agreement. Refund eligibility is governed by the terms shown at purchase and applicable law. Contact support if you believe a billing error occurred.
5. Your content
You retain any rights you have in prompts, sources, files, notes, project material, feedback, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You give ResearchWize and its service providers permission to host, copy, transmit, transform, and process User Content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services or comply with law.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit and process User Content. Do not upload confidential, regulated, copyrighted, or personal information unless you are authorized to do so and the Services are appropriate for that use.
6. AI-assisted output
AI-assisted analyses and outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or inconsistent. A source link or confident explanation does not prove that the underlying claim is correct. You must review output and use independent judgment before relying on, sharing, or submitting it.
Similar prompts can produce similar output for different users. To the extent permitted by law, ResearchWize does not promise that output is unique, free of third-party rights, or suitable for a particular purpose.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- Violate law, academic rules, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, or contractual obligations.
- Upload malware, exploit vulnerabilities, bypass authentication, probe protected systems, or interfere with other users.
- Scrape, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or automate access except through functionality or written permission we provide.
- Evade allowances, rate limits, access controls, safety controls, or payment requirements.
- Generate or distribute deceptive, harmful, abusive, illegal, or rights-infringing material.
- Use another person's data, sources, or account without authorization.
8. ResearchWize ownership and feedback
ResearchWize and its licensors own the Services, software, visual design, brand, documentation, and related materials, excluding User Content. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Services while you comply with them.
If you send product ideas or feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, while we will not publicly identify you as the source without permission.
9. Service availability and third parties
Features, supported file types, models, providers, browser compatibility, and availability may change. We may maintain, update, limit, or discontinue parts of the Services. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Services rely on third parties, including payment, AI, hosting, browser-store, email, and infrastructure providers. Their terms may apply to their part of the service, and outages or changes outside our control can affect ResearchWize.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ResearchWize at any time and may cancel an eligible paid subscription through available billing controls. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, abuse prevention, legal compliance, protection of users, or a material violation of these Terms.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or academic outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResearchWize will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, opportunity, grades, revenue, or reputation; or decisions made from AI-assisted output. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as the Services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it through an appropriate channel.
Questions about these Terms or billing can be sent to [email protected].
